NFL rumors and potential landing spots for QB’s.

Guess whose back!

Greetings y’all. Here is my latest installment of The Daily Dive. It has been a while but I have been busy, busy.

I am going to look at some rumors I have been hearing about the NFL QB’s and their potential landing spots for next year and things of that nature.

First, I am going to look at the Kirk Cousins situation. The Washington Redskins starting QB.
Kirk Cousins is playing on his second Franchise Tag and is earning $23.9 million in 2017. Cousins is the first NFL QB to play under the franchise tag for a second consecutive season. Here’s what the Redskins per Bruce Allen offered Kirk –
Courtesy ESPN.
"Our goal was to sign Kirk to a long-term contract with the final objective of having him finish his career with the Redskins," Allen said Monday in the statement. "On May 2, right after the draft, we made Kirk an offer that included the highest fully guaranteed amount upon signing for a quarterback in NFL history ($53 million) and guaranteed a total of $72 million for injury. The deal would have made him at least the second highest-paid player by average per year in NFL history.”

Now here is what I have been hearing where he might be going because I do not see him playing for the Redskins next year.

San Francisco 49ERS – Nope – Not anymore because they signed Jimmy Garoppolo which he could end up being their potential starting QB.

Denver Broncos – Neither Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch is the answer but there’s a decent chance but I think with Eli Manning potentially hitting the market next year. Who knows?

New York Jets – Josh McCowan is more than likely gone next year and rumors say that Sam Donaldson will stay another year if the Jets or Browns are ranked 1st or 2nd in the NFL Draft next year. So this one is more than likely a probability and I seem them breaking the bank

Cleveland Browns – He could be deemed the “savior” but I only see him going there if the Browns completely clean house and start over.

 Tyrod Taylor

This one is very fascinating. When they benched Tyrod for Nathan Peterman, I was shocked! You’re (The Bills) are the thick of things in the AFC playoff race and you bench your best chance to win for an unproven rookie??  I think Tyrod Taylor is a good QB not the best a potential stopgap for an 1st round draft choice       for a team or a team that is a position away from making a major splash in the playoffs.

Here are the potential landing spots.

Denver Broncos – I heard the Broncos were actually interested in Taylor in 2015. However, someone named Peyton Manning was still in town. However, as off 2108 it is quite possible.

New York Jets – current QB is on the roster, Christian Hackenberg and Joh MCCowan. This addition will be an improvement

Cleveland Browns – They will make every list unfortunately.

Last but not least.

Case Keenum.

Case is playing lights out now. I know he is a journeyman but he rather reminds me of Kurt Warner. That kind of Cinderella story ya know.

I am hearing that Case Keenum has been playing well but they have Teddy Bridgewater and he is ready to jump back into the mix. Sam Bradford I think has played his last snap for the Vikings and possibly for the NFL.

Here’s what I’m hearing even though Case Keenum is paying really well unless they win the Super Bowl which is a possibly they’re going to get rid of him next year as he’s a free agent and go with Bridgewater next year. Case will be signed with The Washington Redskins on a 2-year deal.

Case Keenum

Teddy Bridgeater

It is crazy but it is a business and nothing in the NFL surprises me anymore.

Well until next time.
